A five-day comprehensive certified practitioner course - with independent APMG exam and follow-on consultancy support - that will provide you with a practical guide to planning, implementing and maintaining compliance with the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in schools.

WHO IS THE COURSE FOR

Under the new EU data protection regulations, the appointment of a data protection officer (DPO) will be mandatory in schools. The obligations for this new and challenging role will require insight into:

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

During the Certified GDPR Practitioner Course you will learn how to: 

  • Apply the implementation pathway for GDPR compliance, including:
  • Privacy impact assessments
  • Incident response
  • Policy frameworks
  • E-discovery and data auditing
  • Privacy by Design as the default position
  • Identify the key differences between the Data Protection Act and the GDPR.
  • Understand the role of the data protection officer (DPO) and the new obligations.
  • Develop a plan to address the challenges of building a privacy programme across your school(s).
  • Prepare for managing and reacting to a data breach both from a commercial perspective and that of a regulator.
  • Identify the changing rights of data subjects, consent, data in the cloud and third parties.


You will also gain:

  • Knowledge of the enforcement aspects of the GDPR for your school(s).
  • Hands-on practical completion of GDPR data mapping, risk assessments, data protection impact assessment and memorandum of understanding.
  • Legal guidance on the impact of GDPR on staff contracts and school policies, processes and procedures.
  • Legal guidance on the impact of GDPR on the types of contracts agreed by schools.

CERTIFIED COURSE EXAM

On Day 4, delegates will sit a certified course exam, based on the materials covered in the comprehensive course. You are required to pass this exam to be certified.

 

ACTION PLAN FOR YOUR SCHOOL

While participating in the course, you will complete an action plan for your school that will provide a pathway to compliance. On-going quality assurance reviews with the 9ine team are also included within the course cost.
